PANS/PANDAS…Recognizing and Treating a Complex Condition

As owner of the Children’s Naturopathic Centre, Dr. Sarah McAllister has devoted her work entirely to the treatment of children. While she does act as a primary care physician, her specialty is in the treatment of children with chronic illnesses. Dr. McAllister has particular interest in helping children with ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorder, developmental delays and those for whom allopathic care has few solutions. She holds an undergraduate degree in honors biochemistry from McMaster University and graduated from NCNM in 2005.

She is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and their families in order to address each child’s unique medical needs. Dr. McAllister also believes strongly that medicine is a partnership and focuses on educating the parent and patient to help them make their own decisions. In doing so, every child is given an individualized treatment plan that incorporates diet, exercise, sleep, supplemental and/or medication suggestions.

Dr. McAllister spends her time outside the office with her husband, son and cat. Raising her son keeps her pretty busy, but if she has free time she can be found sailing, enjoying the outdoors and doing yard work.
